This competition serves as a platform for primary school pupils to showcase their ingenuity and commitment to environmental sustainability through the creation of games.

The NPGCC 2024 aims to inspire young minds to explore innovative ways to nurture our natural environment and build a sustainable future for generations to come. NPGC3 2022 is back!

The National Primary Games Creation and Coding Competition (NPGC3) is an annual competition organised by Wellington Primary School. This competition aims to provide a platform for students in Singapore, from Primary 3 to 6, to showcase their talents and creativity in developing digital games.

The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Smart Nation – Landscaping Singapore with a Green Plan’. We hope to encourage participants to create interesting and innovative digital games which focus on the nationwide movement to advance Singapore’s national agenda on sustainable development and features five key pillars: City in Nature, Sustainable Living, Energy Reset, Green Economy and Resilient Future. This is aligned to the nation’s Green Plan initiative that was initiated last year. We hope to encourage participants to create interesting and innovative digital games which focus on the skills and knowledge that allow an individual to make informed and effective decisions in facing problems based on the five key pillars stated above.

We would like to invite your school to our zoom briefing on Wednesday, 13 April 2022 from 2.30 pm to 4 pm.

Details will be provided upon confirmation of attendance.

RE: NPGC3 Postponement

Dear Gamemakers,

In lieu of the recent changes to school protocols due to the CoVid19, NPGC3 2020 will be postponed to 2021. The Organising Committee (OC) had deliberated long and hard on the best alternative way to conduct the event but saw no other way to circumvent this. The OC foresee difficulties in meeting up with students for training, meetings etc. With masks on it would be difficult to communicate effectively. Meetings via video conference applications too will be challenging based from our own experiences during Full Home Based Learning.

As such, the committee regretfully has taken the decision as mentioned in the above to postpone the event.

To facilitate NPGC3 2021, we will keep to the theme, number of competitions and or any other requirement as to what was originally stipulated prior to FHBL. Schools and teams that have sent in their write ups or proposals will have their submissions automatically brought forward to 2021. Such teams need not submit their proposals again.

We apologise for any inconvenience and hope the above measures would help to ease to the challenges faced by schools and teams in preparation for NPGC3.

Best Regards, NPGC3 Organising Committee 2020

27 March 2020

Important Announcement

Dear Game Makers (GMs),

With the uncertainty surrounding the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the NPGC3 Organising Committee (OC) has decided that the format for NPGC3 2020 will be modified. The decision comes after careful consideration, as protecting the health of our participants and supporters our topmost priority.

As such, we will NOT be having our usual Finals where students meet to showcase their products in September. We will however continue with all submissions online. The timeline as indicated in our Information Package (IP)2020 sent previously will remain intact with the exception of the Finals in September. All results will be announced via email and MOTD in August 2020.

We deeply regret to inform all GMs that the Drone Category will be cancelled for this year. We sincerely apologise for schools that have already sent their artwork to be considered. We saw no other way to organise this category in a fair and or secure manner.

Do note that there will be NO face to face training for this year. All supported training from Wellington Primary School and our Partners will be via online videos and other sources only.

Thank you GMs, your kind understanding and patience is greatly appreciated. Let’s do our part by staying safe and strong.

For latest updates on COVID-19, please visit : www.moh.gov.sg

For more information on NPGC3 2020, please visit us at:

Please direct all enquiries to wtps.npgcc@gmail.com and we will try our best to respond within 3 working days.

We would like to thank you once again for your support for NPGC3 and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you.

Best Regards, NPGC3 Organising Committee 2020

Dear all,

The submission of videos for the semi-finals for NPGCC 2016 is now open! Even if your school has not registered for the briefing or the financial literacy/game making training, you are still welcome to submit the details of your teams and their videos (a short 2 to 3 minute introduction of your game) to the following link. The links and results are collated by an independent third party. Mr Aurelius Yeo, the Head of Department, Educational Technology in the School of Science and Technology, has graciously agree to help with the collation of results. The deadline of the submission is 27-May-2016. Results will be out on 29-June-2016.

More great news! In addition to NPGCC, your teams are also able to take part in the Rise of Code Scratch challenge and the Junior Certification Scratch Challenge!
